Thirst quenchers for a hot summers day!

FLAVOURED WATERS   

Try these on a hot summer’s day – they are naturally sweet and refreshing.

MAKES 1 LITRE/35FL OZ/4 CUPS

 

MINTY CUCUMBER LIME

½ Cucumber, sliced

½ lime, sliced

A handful of mint leaves

 

STRAWBERRY, LEMON & BASIL

7og/2½oz/½ cup strawberries, sliced

½ lemon, sliced

A handful of basil leaves

 

WATERMELON & MINT

120g/4¼oz/½ cup cubed watermelon

A handful of mint leaves

 

PINEAPPLE, ORANGE & GINGER

120g/4¼oz/½ cup cubed pineapple

½ orange, sliced

1 tbsp sliced ginger root

 

Place your chosen combination of fruits and flavours in a glass jug and press the fruit with a wooden spoon to release the flavours.

Add 1 litre/1¾ pints/4 cups of water or soda water and some ice cubes. The longer it stands the more the fruit will be infused into the water.
